I had the good fortune of hearing Deelip Menezes deliver the keynote address at the Bricsys 2010 Conference in person. If you missed it, check out the video now at the Bricsys web site. The question and answer session after the speech is an excellent harbinger of the discussions to come if Deelip is correct in his prediction about CAD on the cloud.

I don’t think I heard anything from you, so are you in agreement too? That audience seemed to me stuck in the stone ages with blinders on. They don’t know or see what kids are doing these days on the net… And if they don’t think anyone will uploading their source code to a larger cooperation servers, just look at what Apple has done with the App Store…
I thought Deelip was right on the money with the points he made. I didn’t want to steal any of his thunder, so I kept my mouth shut. I don’t like it any more than the next guy, but the next generation will take “the cloud” for granted.
